For hospitals equipped with pathological anatomy structures, CPG offers a solution that allows digital processes to be integrated into their production process very quickly, at low costs, without risks and difficulties, open to various scanning technologies and with an internet interface improving the quality of diagnoses.
Cloud Pathology Group’s new software solution was designed and implemented based on architectural criteria corresponding to the state of the art in computer applications.
The GUI has been revolutionized to increase ergonomics so that it is essential, intuitive, and easy to use.
To complete the user experience, the HelpOnLine was developed to increase user autonomy.
Layout, font and color choices emphasize linearity and ease of use
The architecture of the Suite CPG Tre © is microservices, small independent services that communicate with each other through well-defined APIs.
The choice of functionalities and micro-functionalities to be implemented was made on the basis of consolidated experience gained from attending anatomic pathology departments, carefully selecting only what was necessary and actually useful and used by pathologist .
Suite CPG Tre © was designed and implemented using Open Source technologies already widely used in the Medical SW landscape.
The Suite CPG Tre © is designed to be equipped with as many basic parameters as possible so that the System can be configured without having to intervene directly in the code. It is thus possible to customize the Suite directly from the front-end.
The Suite CPG Tre © receives incoming data from the LISs with which it dialogues via HL7 protocol, the standard of communication in healthcare, and currently used by all LISs on the Italian market.
The Suite CPG Tre © is intended to be not only interfaceable by receiving input from any LIS and with any scanner but also, potentially, with any other systems. For example, to have the suite activate automatically while using the LIS, or by integrating other systems to support diagnosis.
Suite CPG Tre © aims to be a highly specialized solution focused on Digital Pathology.
In this context, Suite CPG Tre © can be like a Front-End that allows the user to use it as a platform from which to activate other daily work systems as well.
Thanks to the adoption of a responsive design methodology (Responsive Web Design) Suite CPG Tre © has a high degree of adaptability to the device used by the user.
The pathologist will be able to use Suite CPG Tre © using a dual monitor to view the digitized images, as well as a smartphone or tablet to be able to view reports entered by colleagues, create and consult statistics on system use or access logs if they have the appropriate permissions.
The continuous feeding of the database with data and images is a wealth of knowledge that is always available to the facility and its operators; the multi-tear architecture allows, even at low cost, space to never allow data deletion.
CPG-AI Breast Nuclei © and CPG-AI Breast HER2 ©
The image analysis modules available in the Suite CPG Tre © are aimed at the quantitative analysis of nuclear positivity (Ki67, ER, etc.) and membrane positivity (HER2) in immunohistochemical reactions that use DAB as a chromogen.
The image analysis algorithms were developed by CPG and are calibrated on the specific colors of the laboratory in which they are used, through the use of AI.
In practice, each laboratory will have algorithms created ad hoc and personalized based on their needs and characteristics, through the use of machine learning techniques.
Our applications are performed online on static images (screen-shots) derived from the digital virtual preparation. The analysis algorithms were developed by CPG and are calibrated on the staining characteristics of the laboratory in which they are used through the use of AI systems. In practice, each laboratory has algorithms adapted to its needs and characteristics through machine learning algorithms created ad hoc.
Our Colon Cancer Detection software is a solution that has been proven to improve the accuracy and safety in diagnosing colorectal cancer. Supported by an innovative AI model which, through histopathological image processing, allows for the identification of regions of interest and the generation of annotations that can be viewed on the slide image in order to focus and speed up the diagnosis process.
CPG has invested in the development of AI in pathological anatomy to annotate histological slides stained with hematoxylin-eosin. In the inference process through a neural network, a report is drawn up of the areas that need more attention from the anatomopathologist and annotations are generated to classify a portion of the analyzed tissue.

Our team, solely dedicated to Digital Pathology, guarantees a specialist support service to the personnel of the laboratory structures and to the ICT departments, for all problems concerning Information Technology, both for the interfaces with the solution and with the related infrastructures pathological anatomy (LIS, Hardware Infrastructure, PACS/RIS, Traceability, etc.).
We offer support to Doctors and Laboratory Technicians in the various phases of project implementation, through a support program preparatory to the adoption of Digital Pathology, and continuous support for the entire contractual period.
We provide effective consultancy on innovative Digital Pathology projects, both in terms of design and process optimization.
The decision to digitize one’s pathological anatomy as well as bringing numerous benefits is a real paradigm shift. It therefore determines the need to rethink and redesign operational processes and technologies.
CPG, in the light of its focused and continuously enriching experience, helps its customers to analyze the impacts of this transformation and to plan their future in an aware, adequate way and maximizing the benefits.
